Frequently asked questions

Learn about our halo engagement rings, lovingly designed and crafted in-house.

What is a diamond halo engagement ring?

A diamond halo engagement ring is characterised by a central diamond that is surrounded by a "halo" of smaller diamonds. This design enhances the overall sparkle of the ring and creates the illusion of a larger centre stone. The halo can vary in design, with options that include a single row of diamonds in either a micro, milgrain, or claw setting, adding elegance and allure to the piece. Halo engagement rings are popular for their blend of beauty and modern sophistication, making them a sought-after choice.

Are halo engagement rings still popular?

Yes, halo engagement rings remain popular and bring a contemporary aesthetic. The halo design enhances the centre stone’s size and sparkle, creating a captivating look. Halo rings are often paired with diamond-set shoulders for added brilliance, though you can also choose a plain band to keep the focus solely on the top of the ring. This versatility makes halo rings an appealing choice for those seeking a radiant yet stylish engagement ring.

Can I add a halo to my engagement ring?

While you can't retroactively add a halo to your existing engagement ring, this does present an opportunity for a new design. Adding a halo requires remaking the setting, as a halo plate or additional claws are necessary to securely hold the smaller diamonds. We offer a comprehensive remodelling service that allows you to transform your ring. Our expert jewellers will work with you to create a design that perfectly aligns with your vision, including the option to add a halo if desired.

Do you offer both natural and lab grown diamond halo engagement rings?

We exclusively work with natural diamonds for our diamond halo engagement rings and do not offer lab-grown options. While we understand that the choice between natural and lab-grown stones is personal, we believe that the narrative surrounding lab-grown diamonds often lacks transparency. Our diamonds are sourced through the Kimberley Process and the System of Warranties, promoting conflict-free origins. Additionally, many of our suppliers are accredited members of the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC), which upholds high standards of quality and ethical practices. Can you resize a diamond halo engagement ring?

Yes, resizing a diamond halo engagement ring is usually possible, assuming that any smaller diamonds set in the shoulders do not travel all the way around the band. A halo engagement ring is more challenging to resize compared to a solitaire, due to the presence of smaller stones and the delicate nature of the halo setting. As a result, the extent to which the ring can be resized may be limited. Additionally, the age of the ring may influence resizing options, so it’s important to take this into account.
