Frequently asked questions

Learn more about our shaped wedding rings, where thoughtful design meets meticulous craftsmanship.

What are shaped wedding rings?

Shaped wedding rings, also known as contoured, curved, or fitted wedding rings, are designed to complement the unique shape of an engagement ring. These rings are crafted to fit seamlessly around the engagement ring, especially in cases where the engagement ring is lower set, and the base of its settings protrudes, creating a gap with a standard straight band. Shaped wedding rings provide a cohesive and harmonious appearance, enhancing the overall look of both rings while ensuring a comfortable fit.

Why should I choose a shaped wedding ring?

A shaped wedding ring is an ideal choice if you want your wedding band and engagement ring to sit closely together without a noticeable gap. These rings are specifically crafted to complement the shape of the engagement ring, particularly when the setting is lower and the base protrudes. With a gentle contour, the ring features a soft, wave-like curve that reduces the gap, while an exact contour follows the engagement ring’s shape more precisely, virtually eliminating any space between the two bands.

Can shaped or curved wedding rings be set with diamonds?

Yes, shaped or curved wedding rings can be set with diamonds. We are able to set them with micro, milgrain, and roman settings. Round diamonds are typically preferred for these designs, as their shape adapts easily to the curve of the band. Shaped stones, such as princess cuts, are less suited for this purpose as they do not adapt as well to the curve of the ring.

How are shaped wedding rings made?

Our approach to contoured wedding rings is bespoke, with each ring designed to follow the unique shape of your engagement ring. Unlike mass-produced options, we shape each ring by hand to ensure it fits seamlessly with your specific engagement ring, whether with a gentle or exact contour. The process involves precise measurements and expert craftsmanship.
