Frequently asked questions

Learn more about our diamond bracelets, where thoughtful design meets meticulous craftsmanship.

What is a tennis bracelet?

A tennis bracelet is a classic piece of jewellery featuring a row of diamonds, each set in its own individual setting and connected by small, secure links. Known for its timeless appeal, the bracelet offers continuous, seamless sparkle, making it a popular choice for both everyday wear and special occasions.

Why is it called a tennis bracelet?

A tennis bracelet gets its name from a famous incident involving professional tennis player Chris Evert. During the 1987 US Open, she was wearing a diamond bracelet when it fell off her wrist mid-match. The incident was widely covered in the media, and from then on, the bracelet became known as a 'tennis bracelet'.

Can a tennis bracelet be resized?

Yes, a tennis bracelet can usually be shortened. However, the smaller the stones, the more challenging the process becomes. This is because smaller stones have finer settings and links, which can make resizing more intricate. The overall condition of the bracelet will also influence how easily it can be resized, so it's important to assess its state before making any adjustments. A professional jeweller will be able to provide advice on the best course of action for your specific bracelet.

How many carats are in a tennis bracelet?

Our diamond tennis bracelets start from 1.00ct in total carat weight. Whether you're looking for a delicate, more subtle piece or a striking statement bracelet, our Hatton Garden jewellers are here to help you find the perfect option.

Do you offer both natural and lab grown diamond bracelets?

We exclusively work with natural diamonds for our diamond bracelets and do not offer lab-grown options. While we understand that the choice between natural and lab-grown stones is personal, we believe that the narrative surrounding lab-grown diamonds often lacks transparency. Our diamonds are sourced through the Kimberley Process and the System of Warranties, promoting conflict-free origins. Additionally, many of our suppliers are accredited members of the Responsible Jewellery Council (RJC), which upholds high standards of quality and ethical practices.
